Hair loss is one of the biggest worries thousands of both men and woman have.  It can take your confidence and self esteem.  It can start at a very young age and cause depression in lots of cases.  It doesn’t matter how much you have paid for your beautiful clothes or jewellery, if your hair is a mess, for whatever reason, then you feel a mess.  So having a good head of hair is your right to your Crowning Glory and very important to everyone and there are many things that you can now do to achieve it.

We at Wig-O-Mania do not recommend various forms of none surgical grafts for hot countries as the graft has to be glued to the entire bald area of the scalp, using a silicone or similar type based glue.  Thus not allowing the scalp to breath and so it can become very hot and uncomfortable for the customer.  It can also feel very tight and uncomfortable.  All this can cause problems for the supplier when complaints start rolling in.

Not all clients are suitable for none surgical grafts anyway. For example anyone with any kind of damage to the scalp  i.e. scratches, spots, irritation, dandruff, dermatitis, psoriasis or any open wound, no matter how small can not have it done.

Toupees are a much better Business option, giving the least problems for the client and the supplier.  Our Toupees come in a variety of bases (foundations) and are made in our factory with the finest quality products on the market today.

The most popular base for hot countries is the monofilament base which allows the scalp to breath.  The monofilament is a finely woven, see through base, onto which each individual hair is hand knotted.  This gives the appearance of hair growing from a natural scalp.   Because the monofilament is see through you can see the actual clients scalp through it, giving the most natural appearance when in place.

The base usually has a p.u. perimeter around the edge to which the client can attach double sided tape or clips.  Whichever is most suitable for the client.  If the client has just thinning hair then tape should not be used as removal would be very painful.  In this case then Toupee clips should be attached. Once the toupee has been fitted it can be cut and styled to suit the customer’s head.

Our Toupees are made with the finest quality human hair and come in a variety of colours.  The most popular colours for the Asian market are 1B (natural black), 2 (Dark brown) 4 (Dark warm brown.)  So holding stock for the supplier is quite easy in comparison to the European market where many, many colours have to be stocked.

Hair loss is one of the biggest worries thousands of both men and woman have.  It can take your confidence and self esteem.

The most popular base for hot countries and humid countries like India that would give the most comfort and ease to wear would be one with a Fine monofilament base which allows the scalp to breath and the perspiration to escape.  The monofilament is a finely woven, see through base, onto which each individual hair is hand knotted.  This gives the appearance of hair growing from a natural scalp.  Because the monofilament is see through you can see the actual clients scalp through it, giving the most natural appearance when in place.

Monofilament wigs are specially designed for those with severe or total hair loss. Most of their advantages are in comfort, but there are some advantages to their natural styling ease as well.

Monofilament refers to the type of material that hair strands are sewn onto. Unlike a cloth material, which can be itchy to those with sensitive scalps, monofilament material is a thin gauze-like, nearly transparent material which is much more comfortable to the touch. Hair strands are attached by hand-knotting them to this material, one strand at a time, hence the term “mono-filament”.

This allows the strands to swivel freely on base and so the monofilament wig is more easily styled. This weaving technique also creates ventilation. Your monofilament wig will breathe while worn, and this prevents heat and moisture buildup.

The monofilament fabric itself is nearly transparent, and so takes on the approximate color of your own natural scalp, whatever shade that is. This amazing “chameleon” effect is another plus to the monofilament wig design. It has been said that a monofilament part is the most natural looking part in the wig industry, because it bares the natural scalp color of the wearer.

The edge of the base would have a thin P.U. coating on the monofilament so that double-sided tape could be used to attach to the clients head.

When used with clips, it can be removed and replaced again by the client whenever he wishes.

Another comfort factor with this type of toupee is that it can be removed and replaced again by the client when ever he wishes.

AFTER CARE:

It is essential when combing any toupee to never use a sharp comb with close teeth as they can damage the base.  Always make sure that the comb has smooth wide teeth.  Never ever use a metal comb on any hairpiece. Remember to never dig a comb into the base as this will damage it.  Treat your piece gently with care.

1. The first measurement should be across the top of the head from one side to the other, in line with the ears.  Start at one side where the bald area starts across the top of the head to the opposite side of the bald area, to where the hair starts on the opposite side. That is your first measurement. i.e. possibly 7 inches.

2. The second measurement should be taken inline with the nose from the front to the back of the head, starting where the Natural Hairline Should Be and going over the top of the bald section of the head, to where the hair starts to grow again at the back. That is your second measurement. i.e possibly 9 inches.

3. So the size of the toupee required will be a 7X9 inches. The whole of the toupee base will sit exactly on all of the bald area and rest up against the client’s natural hair at the sides and back.

4. If a client has thinning hair you would measure in exactly the same way to find the right size required to cover the thinning area. So you would measure over the top of the head from ear to ear where the hair is the thinnest, to where the sides of the hair become a natural thickness again.

5. The second measurement would be measured from the front natural hairline, inline with the nose over the top of the thinning hair to where the natural hair thickens again.  This client could not use tape so clips would have to be sewn inside the toupee.

6. Toupees can have designated partings or crowns put in. If a parting or crown is placed in a toupee it can be placed to the left, right or the center when being made.  However it is essential that the parting or crown is not changed after as this can cause breakage of the hair.

7. If a client has a style where the hair is taken straight back then vertical knotting should be done at the front of the toupee so the hair will stay back and not lie flat to the head.   This would require the toupee to have a small lace front section, or for the hair to be injected into a small section of a very thin skin front.  This can have a slightly scalloped edge to give a more natural appearance when fitted.

8. The toupees can also be made in freestyle which means it can then be combed in any direction.

9. It is essential when combing any toupee to never use a sharp comb with close teeth as they can damage the base. Always make sure that the comb has smooth wide teeth. Never ever use a metal comb on any hairpiece.  It is far cheaper to replace a comb than a hairpiece.
